§ 5149.22. Council for interstate adult offender supervision.
 

There is hereby established the Ohio council for interstate adult offender supervision pursuant to Article IV of the interstate compact for adult offender supervision. The council shall be comprised of seven members. One member shall be the compact administrator for this state for the interstate compact for adult offender supervision, or the administrator's designee. The speaker of the house of representatives shall appoint one member, who shall be a member of the house of representatives. The president of the senate shall appoint one member, who shall be a member of the senate. The chief justice of the supreme court shall appoint one member, who shall be a member of the judiciary. The governor shall appoint three members, one of whom shall be a representative of a crime victim's organization, and one of whom shall be from the executive branch. The Ohio council for interstate adult offender supervision is not subject to section 101.84 of the Revised Code. 
 

Each appointee to the state council shall be appointed in consultation with the department of rehabilitation and correction and shall serve at the pleasure of the appointing authority. The members of the council shall serve without compensation, but each member shall be reimbursed for the member's actual and necessary expenses incurred in the performance of the member's official duties on the council. 
 

The compact administrator for this state for the interstate compact for adult offender supervision, or the administrator's designee shall serve as commissioner of the state council and as this state's representative to the interstate commission established under Article III of that compact.

Å The effective date of the Act is 1-25-2002. However, this section takes effect the later of 180 days after that date, 7-24-2002, or the effective date of the Interstate Compact for the Supervision of Adult Offenders. The formula for determination of that date is set out in Article XI of the compact. 
 

The provisions of § 4 of H.B. 516 (150 v  - ) read in part as follows: 

SECTION 4. The following agencies shall be retained pursuant to division (D) of section 101.83 of the Revised Code and shall expire on December 31, 2010:

The provisions of § 3 of HB 327 (149 v  - ) read as follows: 

SECTION 3. The amendments to section 5149.22 of the Revised Code that are made in Sections 1 and 2 of this act shall take effect on the effective date of section 5149.22 of the Revised Code, which is the time specified in Section 3 of Sub. H.B. 269 of the 124th General Assembly, or on the earliest date permitted by law, whichever is later.
