Cite as 2015 Ark. 330 SUPREME COURT OF ARKANSAS No. CV-14-987 IN RE UPDATED LIST OF ATTORNEYS SUSPENDED FOR FAILURE TO PAY ANNUAL ATTORNEY-LICENSE FEE Opinion Delivered September 17, 2015 PER CURIAM On May 7, 2015, we issued an opinion, pursuant to Rule VII(C) of the Rules Governing Admission to the Bar (2014), with an accompanying list of attorneys automatically suspended from the practice of law in the State of Arkansas for failure to pay their 2015 annual attorney-license fees. See In re Suspensions of Attorneys Who Failed to Pay Annual Attorney-License Fee, 2015 Ark. 200 (per curiam). Currently, 10,490 attorneys are licensed to practice law in Arkansas. Of those attorneys, 879 are suspended for failure to pay their 2015 license fees. Since May 7, 2015, some suspended attorneys have become current on their license fees and penalties. Rule VII(C)(18) requires that we periodically provide an updated list of suspended attorneys. Attached to this opinion is an updated list of those attorneys. The attorneys listed in Category 1 have not paid their license fees, have remained suspended for nonpayment, and shall not practice law in this state until they are reinstated to good standing. The attorneys listed in Category 2 were suspended for failure to pay their license fees, have become current on the fees and penalties, and are reinstated to their presuspension statuses. We caution that placement in Category 2 is proof of good standing Cite as 2015 Ark. 330 only on the payment of license fees. Information regarding the status of an attorney’s license may be obtained from the clerk of this court. We take this opportunity to remind attorneys that, pursuant to Rule VII(C), we are currently permitting those suspended attorneys to surrender their licenses voluntarily without paying past fees and penalties, and we will continue to do so until December 31, 2016. See In re Amendments to Rules Governing Admission to the Bar, Rule VII, 2015 Ark. 280 (per curiam). Attorneys interested in petitioning this court to surrender their licenses voluntarily should begin that process by contacting the Office of Professional Conduct.
