ARKANSAS SUPREME COURT

No. CR 05-753

NOT DESIGNATED FOR PUBLICATION

MYRON A. WOODS

Appellant

v.

STATE OF ARKANSAS

Appellee

Opinion Delivered October 20, 2005

PRO SE MOTION FOR COPY OF RECORD ON APPEAL AND FOR EXTENSION OF TIME. [CIRCUIT COURT OF MISSISSIPPI COUNTY, CR 2003-366, HON RALPH WILSON, JR., JUDGE]

MOTIONS GRANTED

PER CURIAM

Myron A. Woods pled guilty to first degree murder and was sentenced to 600 months' imprisonment. Appellant subsequently filed a timely petition for postconviction relief pursuant to Ark. R. Crim. P. 37.1. The petition was denied by the trial court on May 3, 2005. Woods has lodged an appeal from that order in this court.

Now before us is Woods's motion for a copy of the record on appeal and request for a forty-day extension to file his brief. Appellant is an inmate in the custody of the Arkansas Department of Correction, and he is proceeding pro se. Appellant's motion is granted. Appellant's brief is due no later then forty days from the date of this opinion.

Woods has also filed a motion for access to the record on appeal, so he can abstract those portions of the record pertinent to his appeal. This request, too, is granted. Our clerk will provide appellant with a copy of the record so that he may prepare his brief. The copy of the record must be returned to this court when the brief is submitted.

Motions granted.
