46.2-408. When Commissioner may suspend or revoke license for no more thanfive years.

On any reasonable ground appearing in the records of the Department, theCommissioner may, when he deems it necessary for the safety of the public onthe highways in the Commonwealth and after notice as provided in 46.2-403and hearing as provided in 46.2-404, 46.2-405, 46.2-406 and 46.2-407suspend or revoke for no more than five years, and not reissue during theperiod of suspension or revocation, the driver's license of any person who isa violator of any of the provisions of this title punishable as felonies,misdemeanors, or traffic infractions and he may suspend or revoke for a likeperiod, and not reissue during the period of suspension or revocation, any orall of his registration cards and license plates for any motor vehicle.
