46.2-208.1. (Effective until January 1, 2007) Electronic transfer ofinformation in Department records for voter registration purposes.

Notwithstanding the provisions of 46.2-208, the Commissioner shall providefor the electronic transfer of information from the Department's records tothe State Board of Elections and the general registrars for the purpose ofvoter registration as required by Chapter 4 of Title 24.2. Except as providedin 24.2-444, the State Board of Elections and the general registrars shallnot make information provided by the Department available to the public andshall not provide such information to any third party.

46.2-208.1. (Effective January 1, 2007) Electronic transfer of informationin Department records for voter registration purposes.

Notwithstanding the provisions of 46.2-208, the Commissioner shall providefor the electronic transfer of information from the Department's records tothe State Board of Elections and the general registrars for the purpose ofvoter registration as required by Chapter 4 of Title 24.2, including but notlimited to the purposes of 24.2-410.1. Except as provided in 24.2-444,the State Board of Elections and the general registrars shall not makeinformation provided by the Department available to the public and shall notprovide such information to any third party.
