IN THE SUPREME COURT OF PENNSYLVANIA IN RE: : NO. 235 : AMENDMENT OF RULES 102, 201, 204, : DISCIPLINARY RULES DOCKET 205, 208, 212, 216, 217, 218, 219, 221, : 301, 321, 401, 402, 403, 501, 502, 503, : 512, 514, 521, 531 AND 532 OF THE : PENNSYLVANIA RULES OF : DISCIPLINARY ENFORCEMENT AND : RULE 1.17 OF THE RULES OF : PROFESSIONAL CONDUCT : ORDER PER CURIAM AND NOW, this 19th day of July, 2023, upon the recommendation of the Disciplinary Board of the Supreme Court of Pennsylvania, which followed the proposal to amend Pa.R.D.E. 102, 201, 204, 205, 208, 212, 216, 217, 218, 219, 221, 301, 321, 401, 402, 403, 502, 521, and 531 and Pa.R.P.C. 1.17, having been published for comment in the Pennsylvania Bulletin, 52 Pa.B. 942 (February 12, 2022), and the recommendation of the Pennsylvania Lawyers Fund for Client Security, which followed the proposal to amend Pa.R.D.E. 501, 502, 503, 512, 514, 521, 531, and 532, having been published for comment in the Pennsylvania Bulletin, 52 Pa.B. 4392 (August 6, 2022): IT IS ORDERED pursuant to Article V, Section 10 of the Constitution of Pennsylvania that Rules 102, 201, 204, 205, 208, 212, 216, 217, 218, 219, 221, 301, 321, 401, 402, 403, 501, 502, 503, 512, 514, 521, 531 and 532 of the Pennsylvania Rules of Disciplinary Enforcement and Rule 1.17 of the Rules of Professional Conduct are amended in the attached form. This ORDER shall be processed in accordance with Pa.R.J.A. 103(b), and shall be effective September 1, 2023, except that changes to the annual attorney registration form reflected in Pa.R.D.E. 219(c) shall become effective May 1, 2024 in conjunction with the commencement of the 2024-2025 attorney registration period. Additions to the rules are shown in bold and are underlined. Deletions from the rules are shown in [bold and in brackets].
