Upon consideration of Defendant-Appellant Gilbert Madrid s letter to the Clerk of the Supreme Court seeking to withdraw his appeal and the records and files herein, it appears that: (1) On June 21, 2001, Appellant, proceeding pro se, filed a notice of appeal from the judgment and sentence convicting him of abuse of a household or family member; and (2) Appellant now states that he wants to withdraw his appeal and asks the court to withdraw his appeal. Therefore, IT IS HEREBY ORDERED that Appellant s request to withdraw his appeal is granted, and this appeal is dismissed. DATED: Honolulu, Hawai#i, September 18, 2001.
