14.46

14.46 Assistant secretary of state. The secretary of state may appoint, in writing, an assistant secretary of state who may perform and execute any of the duties of the secretary of state, except as a member of the board of commissioners of public lands. The assistant secretary shall take and subscribe the oath of office prescribed by article IV, section 28, of the constitution and shall give bond to the secretary of state in the sum and with the conditions as the secretary of state prescribes, conditioned for the faithful discharge of the duties. The oath shall be filed and preserved in the office of the governor.
