63.2-1529. Evaluation of the child-protective services differentialresponse system.

The Department shall evaluate and report on the impact and effectiveness ofthe implementation of the child-protective services differential responsesystem in meeting the purposes set forth in this chapter. The evaluationshall include, but is not limited to, the following information: changes inthe number of investigations, the number of families receiving services, thenumber of families rejecting services, the effectiveness of the initialassessment in determining the appropriate level of intervention, the impacton out-of-home placements, the availability of needed services, communitycooperation, successes and problems encountered, the overall operation of thechild-protective services differential response system and recommendationsfor improvement. The Department shall submit annual reports on or beforeDecember 15 to the House Committee on Health, Welfare and Institutions andthe Senate Committee on Rehabilitation and Social Services.
