63.2-1516.01. Investigation procedures involving person who is the subjectof complaint.

The local department shall, at the initial time of contact with the personsubject to a child abuse and neglect investigation, advise such person of thecomplaints or allegations made against the person, in a manner that isconsistent with laws protecting the rights of the person making the report orcomplaint. In cases where a child is alleged to have been abused or neglectedby a teacher, principal or other person employed by a local school board oremployed in a school operated by the Commonwealth, in the course of suchemployment in a nonresidential setting, the provisions of 63.2-1516.1 shallalso apply.
