63.2-1504. Child-protective services differential response system.

The Department shall implement a child-protective services differentialresponse system in all local departments. The differential response systemallows local departments to respond to valid reports or complaints of childabuse or neglect by conducting either an investigation or a familyassessment. The Department shall publish a plan to implement thechild-protective services differential response system in local departmentsby July 1, 2000, and complete implementation in all local departments by July1, 2003. The Department shall develop a training program for all staffpersons involved in the differential response system, and all such staffshall receive this training.
