59.1-497. Interoperability.

A public body of the Commonwealth which adopts standards pursuant to 59.1-496 and the Secretary of Technology may encourage and promoteconsistency and interoperability with similar requirements adopted by otherpublic bodies of the Commonwealth, other states and the federal governmentand nongovernmental persons interacting with public bodies of theCommonwealth. If appropriate, those standards may specify differing levels ofstandards from which public bodies of the Commonwealth may choose inimplementing the most appropriate standard for a particular application.
