2006 Code of Virginia § 59.1-310.1 - Definitions
59.1-310.1. Definitions.
As used in this chapter unless the context requires otherwise:
"Person" means an individual, partnership, corporation, or association.
"Phototherapy device" means a piece of equipment that emits ultravioletradiation and that is used by a health care professional in the treatment ofa disease.
"Tanning device" means any equipment that emits electromagnetic radiationwith wavelengths in the air between 200 and 400 nanometers and that is usedfor tanning of human skin, including a sunlamp, tanning booth, or tanningbed. The term also includes any accompanying equipment, including protectiveeyewear, timers, and handrails.
"Tanning facility" means a business that provides persons access to tanningdevices.
