58.1-3212. Local restrictions and exemptions.

Notwithstanding the provisions of subdivisions 1 and 2 of 58.1-3211, thegoverning body of a county, city or town may by ordinance specify lower (i)income and financial worth figures, (ii) disability compensation reductionfigures, if applicable, and (iii) reductions for income of relatives livingin the dwelling, other than those set forth in 58.1-3211. No localordinance shall require that a citizen reside in the jurisdiction for adesignated period of time as a condition for qualifying for any real estatetax exemption or deferral program established pursuant to 58.1-3210.
