55-114. Acknowledgments outside of the United States and its dependencies.

Such court or clerk shall also admit any such writing to record as to anyperson whose name is signed thereto upon the certificate under the officialseal of any ambassador, minister plenipotentiary, minister resident, charged'affaires, consul-general, consul, vice-consul or commercial agent appointedby the government of the United States to any foreign country, or of theproper officer of any court of record of such country or of the mayor orother chief magistrate of any city, town or corporation therein, that suchwriting was acknowledged by such person or proved as to him by two witnessesbefore any person having such appointment or before such court, mayor orchief magistrate.
