54.1-3039. Entry into force, withdrawal and amendment.

A. This Compact shall enter into force and become effective as to any statewhen it has been enacted into the laws of that state. Any party state maywithdraw from this Compact by enacting a statute repealing the same, but nosuch withdrawal shall take effect until six months after the withdrawingstate has given notice of the withdrawal to the executive heads of all otherparty states.

B. No withdrawal shall affect the validity or applicability by the licensingboards of states remaining party to the Compact of any report of adverseaction occurring prior to the withdrawal.

C. Nothing contained in this Compact shall be construed to invalidate orprevent any nurse licensure agreement or other cooperative arrangementbetween a party state and a non-party state that is made in accordance withthe other provisions of this Compact.

D. This Compact may be amended by the party states. No amendment to thisCompact shall become effective and binding upon the party states unless anduntil it is enacted into the laws of all party states.
