46.2-832. Damaging or removing certain signs.

Any person who intentionally defaces, damages, knocks down, or removes anylegally posted highway sign or a street address sign posted to assist inaddress identification in connection with enhanced 9-1-1 service as definedin 56-484.12 shall be guilty of a Class 1 misdemeanor.

For the purposes of this section "highway sign" includes but is not limitedto an electrically powered or electronic device installed or erected by theVirginia Department of Transportation or a local governmental agency toprevent collisions, control traffic, or provide guidance or warning tooperators of motor vehicles.
