46.2-344. Temporary driver's permit.

The Department, upon determining, after an examination, that an applicant ismentally, physically, and otherwise qualified to receive a license, may issueto him a temporary driver's permit entitling him, while having the permit inhis immediate possession, to drive a motor vehicle on the highways for aperiod of ninety days, pending the issuance to such person of a driver'slicense.
