46.2-2108.4. Application; notice requirements.

A. Applications for a license, permit, or certificate of public convenienceand necessity under this chapter shall be made to the Department and containsuch information as the Department shall require. Such information shallinclude, in the application or otherwise, the matters set forth in 46.2-2133 and 46.2-2134 as grounds for denying licenses, permits, andcertificates.

B. The applicant for a certificate of public convenience and necessity issuedunder this chapter shall cause a notice of such application, on the form andin the manner prescribed by the Department, to be served on the mayor orprincipal officer of any city or county and on the chairman of the board ofsupervisors of any county in which the applicant maintains offices and/orwarehouses; and on every affected person who has requested notification.Publication of a summary of the application shall be made in a newspaperhaving a general circulation in the area where the primary business office islocated within such time as the Department may prescribe.
