46.2-201. Appointment of Commissioner; term; vacancies.

The Commissioner shall be appointed by the Governor, subject to confirmationby the General Assembly, if in session when such appointment is made and ifnot in session, then at its next succeeding session. He shall hold hisoffice at the pleasure of the Governor for a term coincident with that ofeach Governor making the appointment or until his successor shall beappointed and qualified. Vacancies shall be filled for the unexpired term inthe same manner as original appointments are made.
