46.2-1992.34. Inspections or disclosure required before sale of certaintrailers.

Any trailer required by any provision of this title to undergo periodicsafety inspections shall be inspected by an official inspection stationbetween the time it comes into the possession of a retail dealer and the timethe trailer is sold by the dealer or, in lieu of an inspection, the dealershall present to the purchaser, prior to purchase of the trailer, a writtenitemization of all the trailer's deficiencies relative to applicable Virginiasafety inspection requirements. The provisions of this section shall notapply to sales of trailers or watercraft trailers by individuals notordinarily engaged in the business of selling trailers or watercraft trailersnor shall this section apply to the retail sale of five or more trailers tothe same buyer. Any person found guilty of violating any provisions of thissection shall be guilty of a Class 1 misdemeanor.
