46.2-1992.29. Coercing purchaser to provide insurance coverage on trailer.

It shall be unlawful for any dealer or salesperson or any employee of adealer or representative of either to coerce or offer anything of value toany purchaser of a trailer to provide any type of insurance coverage on thetrailer.

Nothing in this section shall prohibit a dealer from requiring that a retailcustomer obtain vehicle physical damage insurance to protect collateralsecured by an installment sales contract. Any person found guilty ofviolating any provisions of this section shall be guilty of a Class 1misdemeanor.
