46.2-1224.1. Local ordinances regulating certain parking; penalty.

The governing body of any county having the county manager plan of governmentmay by ordinance prohibit idling the engine of a bus for more than tenminutes when the bus is parked, left unattended, or is stopped for other thantraffic or maintenance reasons.

Violators of such ordinance shall be subject to a civil penalty not to exceedfifty dollars, the proceeds from which shall be paid into the county'sgeneral fund.

The provisions of this section shall not apply to school buses or publictransit buses.
