36-96.15. Prompt judicial action.

If the Board concludes at any time following the filing of a complaint andafter consultation with the Office of the Attorney General, that promptjudicial action is necessary to carry out the purposes of this chapter, theBoard may authorize a civil action by the Attorney General for appropriatetemporary or preliminary relief. Upon receipt of such authorization, theAttorney General shall promptly commence and maintain such action. Anytemporary restraining order or other order granting preliminary or temporaryrelief shall be issued in accordance with the Virginia Rules of CivilProcedure. The commencement of a civil action under this section shall notaffect the initiation or continuation of administrative proceedings by theBoard under 36-96.8.
