33.1-313. Preliminary expenses.

The Board is hereby authorized in its discretion to expend out of any fundsavailable for the purpose such moneys as may be necessary for the study ofany turnpike project or projects and to use its engineering and other forcesand employ consulting engineers, traffic engineers and legal counsel for thepurpose of effecting such study, and to pay for such additional engineeringand traffic, legal and other expert studies as it may deem expedient. Allsuch expenses incurred by the Board prior to the issuance of turnpike revenuebonds under the provisions of this article shall be paid by the Board andcharged to the appropriate turnpike project or projects, and the Board shallkeep proper records and accounts showing each amount so charged. Upon thesale of turnpike revenue bonds for any turnpike project or projects, thefunds so expended by the Board in connection with such project or projectsshall be reimbursed to the Board from the proceeds of such bonds.
