30-66. Functional areas; scheduling of study areas.

A. The functional areas of state government shall be scheduled forlegislative review and evaluation by the Joint Legislative Audit and ReviewCommission as specified in subsection B, on a seven-year cycle, and beginningin the 1979-80 fiscal year.

B. From time to time as may be required, the Senate and House of Delegatesshall by joint resolution establish a schedule for the review of thefunctional areas of state government. In the absence of a resolution, theJoint Legislative Audit and Review Commission shall select a functional areafor review on an annual basis.
