2006 Code of Virginia § 24.2-443.3 - Registration records to be maintained by registrars; when registration permitted

24.2-443.3. Registration records to be maintained by registrars; whenregistration permitted.

The general registrar shall maintain and make available for inspection by anyregistered voter the applications for temporary registration for hisjurisdiction and separate lists for each precinct of persons registering tovote pursuant to this article. Registration under this article shall bepermitted until the registration records are closed pursuant to 24.2-416and shall be valid for all elections for which the voter is eligible throughthe next two regularly scheduled general elections for federal officefollowing its receipt. If an official reply to the application or an absenteeballot sent to the applicant is returned as undeliverable, no ballots forsubsequent elections shall be sent under that application. No ballot shall besent to the applicant, and no voted ballot received from the applicant shallbe valid, (i) for any election held after the voter has notified theregistrar that the voter no longer wishes to be registered or (ii) after theregistrar has received notification that the voter has registered to vote inanother state.
