18.2-476. Officers, etc., willfully and deliberately permitting prisonernot convicted of or charged with felony to escape or willfully refusing toreceive prisoner; penalty.

If any sheriff, jailer or other officer, or any guard or other personsummoned or employed by such sheriff, jailer or other officer, willfully anddeliberately permits a prisoner convicted of or charged with an offense not afelony, to escape from his custody, or willfully refuses to receive into hiscustody a person lawfully committed thereto, he shall be guilty of a Class 2misdemeanor.
