18.2-15. Place of punishment.

Imprisonment for conviction of a felony shall be by confinement in a statecorrectional facility, unless in Class 5 and Class 6 felonies the jury orcourt trying the case without a jury fixes the punishment at confinement injail. Imprisonment for conviction of a misdemeanor shall be by confinement injail.
