15.2-709. Investigation of county officers or employees.

The board may inquire into the official conduct of any office, officer oremployee under its control, and investigate the accounts, receipts,disbursements and expenses of any such office, officer or employee. For thesepurposes it may subpoena county employees as witnesses, administer oaths andrequire the production of books, papers and other evidence in their control.If any such witness fails or refuses to obey any such lawful board order, heshall be deemed guilty of a misdemeanor.
