2006 Code of Virginia § 10.1-635 - Power of eminent domain

10.1-635. Power of eminent domain.

In addition to any other powers conferred on it by law, any watershedimprovement district organized under the provisions of this article shall beauthorized to acquire by eminent domain any lands, property rights,franchises, rights-of-way, easements or other property deemed necessary orconvenient for the efficient operation of the district. Such proceedingsshall be in accordance with and subject to the provisions of the laws of theCommonwealth applicable to the exercise of the power of eminent domain in thename of a public service company and subject to the provisions of Chapter 2( 25.1-200 et seq.) of Title 25.1.
