3.1-796.07. Date of referendum; areas, hours, voting places, etc.;publication of notice.

The State Board shall fix the date, areas, hours, voting places, rules andregulations with respect to the holding of any referendum provided for inthis chapter and the State Board may provide for voting by mail if it deemsit advisable. The Commissioner shall give general notice of the referendum ina newspaper of general circulation in Richmond, Virginia, and is directed tosend a notice of the referendum to a newspaper of general circulation in eachcounty in which poultry is produced, at least sixty days prior to the holdingof any referendum under this chapter. Such notice shall contain the date,hours, and method of voting in such referendum, the amount of assessment tobe collected, the means by which such assessments shall be collected, thegeneral purposes for which the assessments will be used, and the rules andregulations adopted by the Board pursuant to 3.1-796.06.
