3.1-769.1. Sanitation and related matters.

(a) Any person, firm, or corporation assembling, transporting, processing,holding, or offering for sale eggs of grade A quality or better shallmaintain the internal temperature of the eggs not to exceed sixty-fivedegrees Fahrenheit and provide a satisfactory relative humidity. In addition,any container, including the packaging material therein or associatedtherewith, shall be clean and free from foreign odor.

(b) The Virginia Board of Agriculture and Consumer Services shall by rulesand regulations, provide for the keeping, processing, transporting, and thesale of eggs under sanitary conditions.

(c) Nothing in this article or in any rules or regulations of the VirginiaBoard of Agriculture and Consumer Services shall be construed to exempt anypersons or premises from the application thereto of any laws otherwiseapplicable and relating to the operation of establishments or facilities forthe storing, transporting, sale, distribution, preparation, or serving offood.
