2006 Code of Virginia § 3.1-65 - Definitions

3.1-65. Definitions.

For purposes of this article:

(a) "Wholesale produce market" means a single, integrated, public marketlocated in a substantially contiguous area which serves as a major source ofsupply of perishable agricultural commodities consumed in a large consumingarea and which is operated primarily for the purpose of selling or otherwisedisposing of perishable agricultural commodities at wholesale for resale toothers.

(b) "Perishable agricultural commodities" means agricultural commoditiesand products thereof, consisting principally of fresh fruits and vegetables,handled alone or in combination with poultry, eggs, meats, seafood and dairyproducts.

(c) "Eligible borrower" means any municipality, political subdivision oragency of the Commonwealth, including any city port authority or producemarket authority established by or under the laws of this Commonwealth.
