2.2-708. Coordination of local long-term care services.

The governing body of each county or city, or a combination thereof, shalldesignate a lead agency and member agencies to accomplish the coordination oflocal long-term care services. The agencies shall establish a long-term carecoordination committee composed of, but not limited to, representatives ofeach agency. The coordination committee shall guide the coordination andadministration of public long-term care services in the locality. Themembership of the coordination committee shall be comprised of, but notlimited to, representatives of the local department of public health, thelocal department of social services, the community services board orcommunity mental health clinic, the area agency on aging and the localnursing home pre-admission screening team. A plan shall be implemented thatensures the cost-effective utilization of all funds available for long-termcare services in the locality. Localities are encouraged to provide serviceswithin each category of service in the continuum and to allow one person todeliver multiple services, when possible.
