Act 3 - SP4 MICHAEL WILLIAM TWIGG MEMORIAL BRIDGE - DESIGNATION

An Act

 

Designating a bridge, identified as Bridge Key 40269, on that portion of US 219 Southbound over State Route 2047, Summit Township, Somerset County, as the SP4 Michael William Twigg Memorial Bridge.

 

The General Assembly of the Commonwealth of Pennsylvania hereby enacts as follows:

 

Section 1.  SP4 Michael William Twigg Memorial Bridge.

(a)  Findings.--The General Assembly finds and declares as follows:

(1)  Michael William Twigg was born August 4, 1946, and was a resident of Meyersdale Borough when he enlisted in the United States Army on July 7, 1966, and entered selective service.

(2)  SP4 Twigg was a heavy vehicle driver and served with C Company, 4th Engineer Battalion, 4th Infantry Division, and reached Specialist 4th Class.

(3)  SP4 Twigg died March 25, 1967, from small arms fire in Tay Ninh Province, South Vietnam.

(b)  Designation.--The bridge, identified as Bridge Key 40269, located on US 219 Southbound over State Route 2047, Summit Township, Somerset County, is designated the SP4 Michael William Twigg Memorial Bridge.

(c)  Signs.--The Department of Transportation shall erect and maintain appropriate signs displaying the name of the bridge to traffic in both directions on the bridge.

Section 2.  Effective date.

This act shall take effect in 60 days.
