1974 Committee Comment to H 511

The gist of an offense under this section is an attempt, by means of a threat, to corrupt a public servant or interdict the performance of his duties. The offense complements the offense of bribery, i.e., bribery represents the carrot and intimidation represents the stick. The threat of harm involved in a violation of this section is not restricted to a threat of physical harm.

Intimidation is a felony of the third degree.
