NRS 344.013 Definitions. As used in this chapter, unless the context otherwiserequires, the words and terms defined in NRS344.015 and 344.017 have themeanings ascribed to them in such sections.

NRS 344.015 Directordefined. Director means the Director of theLegislative Counsel Bureau.

NRS 344.017 Multipleduplication equipment defined. Multiple duplicationequipment means stencil duplicators and offset duplicators and equipment of asimilar type, and all related equipment.

NRS 344.019 Superintendentdefined. Repealed. (See chapter 318, Statutes of Nevada 2005,at page 1094.)

 

NRS 344.021 StatePrinting Office: Creation; composition.

1. The State Printing Office is hereby created withinthe Legislative Counsel Bureau.

2. The State Printing Office consists of the StatePrinter, who is the head of the Office, and the:

(a) Printing Section; and

(b) Reproduction Section.

NRS 344.023 Qualificationsof Superintendent. Repealed. (See chapter 318,Statutes of Nevada2005, at page 1094.)

 

NRS 344.040 Generalduties of State Printer. The State Printershall:

1. Supervise the operations of the State PrintingOffice.

2. Take charge of and be responsible for allmanuscripts or other matter which may be delivered to him for printing orreproduction.

3. Receive and promptly execute all orders forprinting or reproduction required by the Legislative Counsel Bureau, the NevadaLegislature or the Supreme Court of Nevada.

4. Submit a biennial report through the Director tothe Legislative Commission and the Governor concerning the completetransactions of the State Printing Office.

5. Maintain perpetual inventory records of equipmentin the State Printing Office. The State Printer shall include in the biennialreport required by subsection 4 a statement of all changes in the equipmentinventory made since the submission of the preceding report.

NRS 344.045 Interestin certain contracts prohibited. The StatePrinter shall not have any interest, direct or indirect, in any contract forfurnishing paper, other printing stock or material connected with the StatePrinting Office.

NRS 344.047 Governmentalentity not required to use services of State Printing Office; State PrintingOffice not required to provide work for governmental entities; exception. No governmental entity is required to use the services ofthe State Printing Office, and the State Printing Office is not required toproduce any work for a governmental entity, except with respect to workrequired by statute to be produced for:

1. The Legislative Counsel Bureau or the NevadaLegislature; and

2. The Supreme Court of Nevada.

NRS 344.050 Acceptanceof governmental work by State Printer; solicitation of bids.

1. The State Printer may accept all governmental workand shall not permit any other than governmental work to be done in the StatePrinting Office.

2. All officers, boards, commissions, trustees,regents and directors of the Executive Department of the State Government thatrequire the publication, printing, reproduction or binding of reports,circulars, bulletins, printed books, stationery or printed matter of any kind:

(a) If otherwise required to solicit bids for the work,shall solicit a bid from the State Printing Office; or

(b) If not otherwise required to solicit bids for thework, may use the services of the State Printing Office without solicitingbids.

3. The State Printing Office shall print officialstationery, cards and other material appropriate to the official duties ofmembers of the Legislature at the expense of the Legislative Fund.

4. The provisions of this chapter do not require theState Printer to perform any work other than that which the type, machinery andother printing, reproduction and binding appliances and available technology inthe State Printing Office permit.

5. As used in this section, governmental work meanswork for any state, local or federal governmental entity in the United States,including, without limitation, the typesetting, printing, reproducing andbinding of reports, brochures, booklets, forms, blanks, envelopes, letterheadand other matter and material.

NRS 344.055 Acquisitionof multiple duplication equipment by state agencies; reproduction by stateagency of type composed by Division. Repealed. (See chapter 318, Statutes of Nevada 2005,at page 1094.)

 

NRS 344.060 Unionlabel to be affixed to certain public printing. TheState Printer shall cause to be affixed to all public printing, except workproduced in the Reproduction Section, the union label recognized by theInternational Typographical Union. He is authorized to purchase such cuts forthat purpose as in his discretion are necessary.

NRS 344.070 Copyrightsof state publications.

1. The State Printer may secure copyright under thelaws of the United States in all publications issued by the State of Nevada,the copyright to be secured in the name of the State of Nevada.

2. All costs and charges incurred in copyrighting suchpublications must be charged against the State Printing Fund, and must be paidin the same way as other charges are paid by the State.

NRS 344.080 Dutyof State Printer to hire employees for State Printing Office; discharge ofemployees. The State Printer shall employ suchcompositors, assistant compositors, bindery operators, assistant binderyoperators, pressmen, assistant pressmen and other employees as the exigency ofthe work from time to time requires, and he may at any time discharge thoseemployees. The State Printer shall not, at any time, employ more compositors,assistant compositors, bindery operators, assistant bindery operators,pressmen, assistant pressmen and other employees than the necessities of theState Printing Office require.

NRS 344.090 StatePrinting Fund: Creation.

1. The State Printing Fund is created as an internalservice fund.

2. The State Printing Fund consists of the moneyappropriated to carry out the provisions of this chapter and all money receivedin the State Printing Fund from any source in payment of all printing,reproduction and binding done in the State Printing Office.

NRS 344.095 Divisionprinting plant: Repayment of costs of construction and modernization. Repealed.(See chapter 318, Statutesof Nevada 2005, at page 1094.)

 

NRS 344.110 Determinationof charge for printing, reproduction and binding; bills.

1. The State Printer shall determine the charge to bemade for all printing, reproduction and binding, and shall fix a price fromtime to time that will cover all costs of material and doing the work. For thispurpose, he shall establish and maintain a double-entry cost system, showing atleast:

(a) Direct labor costs;

(b) Direct material costs; and

(c) Overhead.

2. The State Printer shall render bills for each itemof printing, reproduction and binding or other charge against the officer,department, board, commission, agency or institution ordering the same.
