CHAPTER 233G - GOVERNORS ADVISORY COUNCILON EDUCATION RELATING TO THE HOLOCAUST

NRS 233G.040 Duties.

NRS 233G.010 Councildefined. As used in this chapter, unless thecontext otherwise requires, Council means the Governors Advisory Council onEducation Relating to the Holocaust.

NRS 233G.020 Creation;number of members. The Governors AdvisoryCouncil on Education Relating to the Holocaust, consisting of 11 membersappointed by the Governor, is hereby created.

NRS 233G.030 Appointmentof members; meetings; salary of members.

1. The Governor shall appoint the members of theCouncil from among residents of this state who are familiar with the events ofthe Holocaust.

2. The Council may meet at such times and places as itconsiders necessary to carry out the purposes of this chapter.

3. Each member of the Council is entitled to receive asalary of $60 for each days attendance at a meeting of the Council.

NRS 233G.040 Duties. The Council shall:

1. Develop programs for the education of children andadults in issues relating to the Holocaust, make reports and advise public andprivate bodies throughout the State on matters relevant to education concerningthe Holocaust.

2. Develop programs to raise money for the use of theCouncil in carrying out its duties. Any money raised by the Council pursuant tothis subsection must be accounted for separately in the State General Fund andis authorized for expenditure by the Council in carrying out its duties.

3. On or before January 1 of each odd-numbered year,submit a report which describes the programs that the Council has developed andexpenditures that it has made to the Superintendent of Public Instruction andto the Director of the Legislative Counsel Bureau for transmittal to the LegislativeCommission.
