Sec. 3813.

An insurer that issues a policy that provides disability coverage to a person eligible for medicare by reason of age shall provide the prospective policyholder with a medicare supplement buyer's guide, which shall be furnished at the time of application, and acknowledgment of receipt of the buyer's guide shall be obtained by the insurer. However for direct response solicitation policies, the guide shall be furnished with the policy and acknowledgment of receipt need not be obtained by the insurer. This section does not apply to policies that provide accidental death benefits for travel or other accidents, or if the medical expense or indemnity payments are only incidental to the accidental death benefits for travel or other accidents.
