3.702 Administration by department of social welfare; compact administrator.

Sec. 2.

The state department of social welfare, hereinafter referred to as “the department”, shall administer the state administrative functions under this act. Pursuant to Article XII of the interstate compact on juveniles, hereinafter referred to as “the compact”, the governor shall designate an employee of the department, nominated by the social welfare commission for this purpose, to serve at the pleasure of the social welfare commission as the compact administrator, who, acting jointly with like officers of other party states, shall recommend rules and regulations to the social welfare commission for promulgation to carry out more effectively the terms and provisions of the compact. The department shall have the power and duty to cooperate with all other departments, agencies and officers of and in the government of this state and its subdivisions in facilitating the proper administration of the compact or of any supplementary agreement or agreements entered into by this state thereunder.
