Section 8-517 - Civil penalty.

§ 8-517. Civil penalty.
 

(a)  In general.- A health care provider who violates a provision of this part is liable to the State for a civil penalty not more than three times the amount of the overpayment. 

(b)  Additional to other penalties.- The civil penalty provided in this section is in addition to any other penalty provided by law. 

(c)  Restitution not limited.- This section may not be construed to limit a victim's right to restitution under Title 11, Subtitle 6 of the Criminal Procedure Article.
