171.620 Private documents of public interest. The department is authorized, whenever it is deemed to be in the public interest, to accept for deposit: (1) The papers and other historical materials of any Governor of the Commonwealth of Kentucky, or of any other official or former official of the state or its subdivisions, and other papers relating to and contemporary with any Governor or former Governor of Kentucky, subject to restrictions agreeable to the department and the donor; (2) Documents, including motion picture films, still pictures, sound recordings, maps, and papers, from private sources that are appropriate for preservation by the state government as evidence of its organization, functions, policies, and transactions or those of its subdivisions.
