When the circuit judge believes that the safekeeping of a prisoner confined in his county under a charge of felony requires that a guard be kept over him, he shall make the order of record to that effect, and direct the number of guards to be summoned, by whom, and under whose control they shall be placed. Each guard so summoned and performing duty shall be allowed one dollar ($1) per day, to be paid out of the county treasury. Effective: January 2, 1978 History: Amended 1976 (1st Extra. Sess.) Ky.
