(1) (2) The county clerk of any county shall receive a maximum annual expense allowance of $3,600 to be paid from the fees collected by the clerk. In counties of less than 75,000 population, the expense allowance shall be taken in monthly installments of $300 from fees collected on a calendar year basis. In counties of 75,000 or more population, the allowance shall be paid in semimonthly installments of $150 according to the procedures found in KRS 64.345(4). The expense allowance provided by this section shall be in addition to other lawful expense payments. If the amount of fees collected will not fund the full amount of the annual expense allowance, then the county clerk shall receive the excess of such fees after all other lawful expenses and salaries have been paid. The fiscal court of any county may pay that portion of the maximum annual expense allowance for which no excess fees are available. Effective: June 17, 1978 History: Created 1978 Ky.
