Any agency, unit, or instrumentality of federal, state, or local government, including any publicly owned utility or publicly owned corporation of federal, state, or local government, which proposes to engage in surface coal mining operations, as defined by KRS 350.010(1), shall comply with the requirements of this chapter. History: Created Ky. Acts ch. 1980, Ky. Acts ch. 62, sec. 38. Legislative Research Commission Note. The provisions of this section became operative on May 18, 1982, when the conditional approval granted by the United States Secretary of the Interior appeared in the Federal Register.
