176.070 Advertisement for bids. (1) (2) After surveys, plans, specifications and estimates have been completed for any road or section thereof, and the type and character of the road has been determined, and the right-of-way obtained, the bureau shall advertise by publication pursuant to KRS Chapter 424, for bids on the work, and may contract for the purchase of all materials necessary for the construction and maintenance of roads. Before advertising for bids for the construction or reconstruction of any highway, the department may determine the type of improvement desired, and may advertise and receive bids for only the types determined. The advertisement shall make it generally known that the work is to be done, and shall state the place where the bidders may examine the plans and specifications. History: Amended 1966 Ky.
