176.053 Trees along rights-of-way -- Proceeds from sale of products. (1) (2) The Department of Highways is authorized to plant or set trees on and along any and all rights-of-way of highways or state property adjacent thereto, and to cut and sell wood, lumber, or forest products therefrom. All proceeds from the sale of such wood, lumber, or forest products shall be held in a separate fund for the maintenance, construction, or improvement of highways, or the acquiring of rights-of-way, and the improvement or development thereof.
