CHAPTER 342 WORKERS' COMPENSATION
342.228 Responsibilities of Department of Workers' Claims -- Selection and qualifications of commissioner.

Page 1 of 1 342.228 Responsibilities of Department of Workers' Claims -- Selection and qualifications of commissioner. (1) The Department of Workers' Claims shall be responsible for administering claims and ensuring compliance with the insurance, self-insurance, and rehabilitation <br>provisions in this chapter. The department shall be administered by a commissioner <br>appointed by the Governor. The Governor shall select the commissioner from a list <br>of three (3) names submitted by the Workers' Compensation Nominating <br>Commission created pursuant to KRS 342.213. The commissioner appointed by the <br>Governor shall be subject to the consent of the Senate in accordance with KRS <br>11.160. (2) The commissioner shall have demonstrated knowledge and experience in the area of workers' compensation, public administration, and administrative law.
