304.29-271 Annual license. Societies which are now authorized to transact business in this state may continue to do <br>business until May 1 next succeeding January 1, 1989. The authority of the societies, and <br>all societies hereafter licensed, may be renewed annually, but in all cases shall terminate <br>on the succeeding April 30. However, a license so issued shall continue in full force and <br>effect until the new license be issued or specifically refused. For each license or renewal, <br>the society shall, prior to May 1, pay to the commissioner a fee as specified in Subtitle 4 <br>of this chapter. A duly certified copy or duplicate of the license shall be prima facie <br>evidence that the licensee is a fraternal benefit society within the meaning of this subtitle.
